The missing hat is found on a toad located to the northeast of the castle. Its guide says that you’ll have to talk to a hat just outside Peach’s castle and it’ll tell you that a friend is missing and doesn’t know where he went. I managed to get 2 of them but the last one, 42, is annoying me. I got to the point where it said that he ran out so I searched through YouTube for the last 3 moons (stars) in the Mushroom Kingdom. I’m starting with the mushroom kingdom and have used toad hints to help me find all of them. I’ve been exploring and collecting all the moons in Super Mario Odyssey now that I’ve finished the game. I MEAN POWER MOON 42ĮDIT 2: Figured it out, turns out I found the perfect Youtube video. Super Mario Odyssey is scheduled for release on October 27.EDIT: THE TITLE IS DUMB, NOT MUSHROOM 42. There’s no doubt that Odyssey will be a hit, as it is (also in typical Nintendo fashion) a game for both new players and long-time fans. Super Mario Odyssey looks fresh and appealing thanks to its gorgeous and crisp though still traditional Nintendo graphics. The game itself looks pretty straightforward, as Super Mario Odyssey seems to follow the traditional Super Mario gaming experience. When throwing his ghost-possessed hat, Mario can teleport himself into certain characters, from frogs to koopas - and, indeed, also into the aforementioned scary dinosaur! The trailer implied that Mario has to partner up with a ghost that hides inside his cap. In Odyssey, it seems like hats follow a certain theme, as a variety of hats are shown throughout the trailer, and, as mentioned before, Mario’s S.S. What it did reveal, though, was a very new ability for Mario: For the first time, he can throw his hat. The trailer revealed at Nintendo’s spotlight does not show much. The gameplay in Super Mario Odyssey is not yet completely clear. Still, I can’t stop wondering about Nintendo’s choice of setting, and I guess we’ll just have to see how it turns out once the game is released. That said, I doubt that Nintendo will make a bad use of clichés, as they are always keen on promoting friendship and fairness in their storylines. In another shot, Mario talks to locals wearing sombreros, which might be concerning for some as the tired cliché of sombrero-wearing Mexicans is something Mexican players likely will not enjoy. Odyssey, flies through scenery reminiscent of ancient Egypt, with a pyramid nestled in the corner of the screen. In a trailer revealed at the Nintendo Experience show, Mario, on his S.S. The clip at the Nintendo Spotlight show teased a New York-inspired city (called, cunningly, “New Dork”), and also some primal scenery, including a very big and scary dinosaur. This is mostly due to the fact that we don’t know enough about what areas or countries the game will represent, and moreover, in what way. The familiar look of Earth gives the Mario franchise room for new stories, although the merging of our planet and the Mushroom Kingdom is very unusual, and I’m not quite convinced by the idea (yet, at least). The setting of Super Mario Odyssey is highly intriguing. Odyssey, which looks, to be honest, fairly similar to the flying version of Alice in Wonderland’s Mad hatter’s hat.Īnd I might be on the right track here, as the ship - or whatever it is - transforms into Mario’s own famous hat and accompanies our favorite plumber on his adventures. Mario does so with his new vehicle, the S.S. In a very interesting twist, Mario will leave the Mushroom Kingdom and enter a completely new world: planet Earth (or, probably, a planet that represents Earth). launched in 1985.Īfter so many Mario titles having been released by Nintendo, some may have started to wonder if there’s anything left for Mario to explore. As such, Odyssey will be the first Super Mario game for Nintendo’s new flagship console, the Nintendo Switch - and the 14th (!) installment of the Super Mario console franchise since Super Mario Bros. It’s time to head back to the Mushroom Kingdom! During their presentation at E3, Nintendo revealed a new trailer for their upcoming Super Mario game, Super Mario Odyssey.
